Delete your account

You can request permanent deletion of your Tikel account and associated data at any time. Below is what happens, what's removed, what stays, and how long it takes.

Email us to delete your account

Send a short email from the address you registered with — that helps us verify the account quickly. Use the button below to open a pre-filled draft, or write to tikel-tech@outlook.com directly.

Email a deletion request

We'll acknowledge within 7 days and confirm completion within 30 days. We may ask one verification question if the email isn't recognized.

You can also delete from inside the app

Open Tikel and go to Profile → Settings → Account → Delete Account. The in-app flow performs the same deletion as an email request.

01 What gets removed, and what stays

When we process your deletion request, the data tied to your account is split into two groups: data that is deleted, and a small set of records we are required to keep for legal, financial, or security reasons.

  • Account profile (name, email, phone, profile photo, sign-in identifiers)
  • Goals, preferences, allergies, dislikes, and health context you provided
  • Body measurements and any cycle-related data (if used)
  • Food diary, scan history, recipes, pantry items, meal plans
  • Photos and label scans you uploaded
  • Voice recordings and transcripts
  • AI chat history and saved conversations
  • Personalized recommendations and saved items
Retained
Kept for legal or operational reasons
  • Payment, invoice, and tax records (required by applicable financial law)
  • Subscription and billing entitlement records held by Apple, Google, or our payment processor
  • Records of past abuse, fraud, or security incidents tied to the account
  • Support correspondence, where needed to resolve disputes
  • De-identified or aggregated analytics that can no longer be linked to you
  • Backup copies, until backup rotation cycles complete

Retained records are never used for advertising, profiling, or sold to third parties. They sit isolated from active product systems and are deleted at the end of the legally required retention window.

02 Timeline

  1. Within 7 days

    We acknowledge receipt of your request and let you know if we need any extra information to verify the account.

  2. Within 30 days

    Your account and the data listed in the "Deleted" column are removed from our active production systems. We send a confirmation email when it's done.

  3. Up to 90 days

    Residual copies in routine backup archives roll off as those backups expire. We do not restore deleted accounts from backup except where required by law or for verified security investigations.

03 Before you delete

Cancel paid subscriptions separately. Deleting your Tikel account does not automatically cancel an active App Store or Google Play subscription. Manage and cancel those through Apple ID Subscriptions or Google Play Subscriptions before requesting account deletion to avoid further charges.

Account deletion is permanent. Once processed, your diary, scans, recipes, plans, and history cannot be restored. If you only want to take a break, sign out of the app — it does not delete data and you can return any time.
